What an inspiring and action-packed week in Istanbul for our dedicated team at RASH!

Our CEO, Dr. Arjan Xhelaj, along with technical management experts Mrs. Elisantila Gaci and Mr. Adriatik Allamani, immersed themselves in a series of high-impact events hosted by TUBITAK-ULAKBIM, Turkey's National Research and Education Network (NREN). This vibrant gathering brought together key players from across the region to drive innovation and collaboration in digital infrastructure.

Highlights included:

- The SEE NRENs CEO Meeting, featuring insightful discussions with GEANT CEO Lisa Fuhr on the future of interconnected research networks.

- The GEANT Security Bootcamp is tailored for Southeast European (SEE) countries, equipping participants with cutting-edge tools to combat evolving cyber threats.

- The GEANT Service Technical Forum, where experts shared best practices for advancing e-infrastructure services.

Throughout the week, conversations centered on expanding regional cooperation under the GEANT framework, bolstering cybersecurity capabilities, and providing targeted support for RASH to launch a specialized Computer Incident Response Team (CIRT) dedicated to education and research sectors. We're particularly excited about scaling up RASH's e-infrastructure by creatively leveraging our existing 100 Gbps capacities through GEANT's Point of Presence (PoP) in Milan—this will unlock new possibilities for high-speed data exchange and collaborative projects.

In addition, Dr. Xhelaj held a warm and strategic bilateral meeting with his Turkish counterpart, Mehmet Mirat Satoğlu, Director of ULAKBIM. They explored ways to deepen ties between RASH and ULAKBIM, focusing on joint initiatives in areas like shared research platforms, technology exchanges, and capacity-building programs. This cordial exchange sets the stage for stronger partnerships, with tangible actions and collaborative projects already in the pipeline for the months ahead—stay tuned for updates!
